How does recruitment take a month?

Postby corex on Mon Dec 05, 2005 9:51 pm

It's understandable to take a month or so, but how does it take that long? Many of the ph4t3r l00ted members are PMed in game often I'm guessing, so how could you even get in a raid to show your skills?

Because we have to finger print you, send them to FBI for clearance. This will take 2-3 weeks at least..

We're a small guild that focuses much more on quality than quantity. We rarely take on new people because we usually have very solid attendence with most classes. When we do need people, we choose a few recruits from the people interested and try them out. It takes atleast a month because we actually get to know the person, and we work with them so we can get to know how well they play their class and even then /ginvite isn't a sure thing. We're looking for intelligent, easy going people who play well and can fill the vacancies we have. Often, this is a hard thing to come by. But thats just my opinion of the recruitment process.

In the past we have tested apps on stuff like 3 man dm or 5 man ubrs or other instances. This is in part to see their skill but also to see their dedication (5man ubrs can take a while but its a lot of fun imo). After discussing the choices a bit we then test them further in mc and zg, sometimes even bwl. To be brought to mc means we are very serious about considering you and to get to that point can take a couple weeks. In part this is because often we are considering several people for 1 slot and the choice can be very difficult.

We tend to first examine people that we know anything about. If we dont know anything about a player we have a contact person or me usually interview them to get a feel of what they are all about. Several others have gotten their name out / gotten to know us through pvping with us.

All paladins, druids, and priests are also subject to drug tests. If they are positive, it does not mean you are excluded, you are merely assigned Shiv healing duties.
